Business Manager

role at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. This full‑time position reports to the Executive Director Business and Administration/Vice Chair – Operations and Finance.

Job Overview The Business Manager will oversee the financial, administrative, and operational activities of the department, providing day‑to‑day administration, budgeting, personnel management, and supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Functions

Assist in the management of the financial, administrative, and operational activities of a business unit with a considerable income generation component.

Coordinate budget preparation and may monitor grants and contracts.

Determine purchasing priorities and make recommendations for major capital expenditures.

Coordinate personnel functions for an operating unit.

Provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non‑exempt staff (hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approval of time off).

Serve as a seasoned, proficient professional and perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field. Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience Three (3) years of financial and administrative experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Master’s trained candidate in Business Administration, Health Administration or Public Health Administration.

Prior experience in health care administration, accounting/revenue cycle, physician practice management.
