Criminal Intelligence Analyst

Are you looking for a career in the criminal justice field? As a criminal intelligence analyst with the Law Enforcement Bureau, you'll be able to provide assistance to a diverse group of citizens and make a difference in our communities. Responsibilities

Perform statistical and intelligence analysis by applying analytical tradecraft and best practices in analyzing data and reaching accurate conclusions. Analyze, summarize and/or review data; report findings, interpret results and/or make recommendations and respond to requests for service in a timely manner. Write or draft raw and finished intelligence reports, articles or related material based on research, investigation or analysis. Examine national security related threats impacting the State of Utah, including terrorism, organized crime, drugs, gangs and targeted violence. Form conclusions and develop recommendations for detection, deterrence, disruption and mitigation. Participate in working groups or teams or other related assignments as needed or directed. Collect and process evidence and ensure that evidence has been correctly entered in the SAFE evidence system. Qualifications

Demonstrate skills in intelligence analysis. Demonstrate skills in critical thinking. Demonstrate skills in social media research and analysis. Use databases for entering data, searching and exploiting information and for the development of intelligence to inform decision makers. Create spreadsheet tables and statistics. Create and present analytic reports. Demonstrate experience in supporting law enforcement investigations and task forces. Preferred Qualifications

Have experience with intelligence analysis, targeting, or geospatial analysis. Have experience working on task forces, task teams or in similar environments. Additional Requirements

Willingness and availability to travel within and outside of state, including overnight stays when necessary. Attendance at intelligence analysis training. Attendance at subject matter expertise development training for this position. Benefits

A Level II background investigation will be conducted prior to employment. Risks found in the typical office setting are adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, with safe use of office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observation of fire regulations. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items or driving an automobile. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
