This is a hands‑on leadership role ideal for someone who combines strong accounting expertise with strategic business insight.
Position Summary The Financial Controller will lead all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance across the organization. This individual will serve as a key business partner to executive leadership, helping drive operational performance, manage cash flow, and strengthen the company’s financial foundation. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail‑oriented leader who can manage both the day‑to‑day accounting functions and the strategic financial planning that supports long‑term growth. Experience in distribution and wholesale inventory management is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor the geographically distributed accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.
Partner cross‑functionally with operations, logistics, sales, and brand management to align financial practices with business goals.
Oversee HR and payroll functions, including annual evaluation of health insurance plans and compensation.
Oversee all accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and the General Ledger.
Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Oversee inventory valuation, cost accounting, and margin analysis specific to distribution operations and purchasing.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and KPIs to support sound decision‑making.
Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and reporting requirements, including beverage‑alcohol regulations.
Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and insurance providers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or controller role.
Experience in multi‑state distribution, logistics, or wholesale environments strongly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in ERP/accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
