Celestica is looking for a detail-oriented

Associate Production Planner

to join our Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will have

2-4 years

of foundational experience in production planning, scheduling support, or material control within a manufacturing environment. This role will primarily focus on

executing, maintaining, and supporting

the production schedules for complex system builds, with exposure to projects involving

liquid cooling

and

data center rack integration .

Key Responsibilities

Scheduling Support:

Assist the Senior Production Planner in developing and maintaining the daily and weekly production schedules (MPS), ensuring alignment with material availability and established line capacity. Analyzes internal impact (e.g., line scheduling, procurement, logistics, shipping, etc.) of customer scheduling changes, communicating risks and necessary adjustments to functional teams.

Material Readiness Execution:

Coordinate closely with warehouse and procurement teams to ensure all necessary components are released to the production floor on time.

Data Maintenance:

Maintain the accuracy and integrity of critical planning data within the ERP/MRP system, including lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and Bill of Materials (BOM) revisions.

Inventory Control Support:

Monitor work-in-process (WIP) and component inventory levels on the production floor. Help identify and report potential excess, surplus, or obsolete inventory.

Line Coordination:

Act as the direct daily link between the planning office and the production floor supervisors, communicating schedule changes, prioritizing hot jobs, and addressing immediate material discrepancies, especially for specialized

liquid cooling

and

rack assembly

stations.

NPI Support:

Assist in planning the material and capacity ramp for

New Product Introduction (NPI)

builds, ensuring planning parameters are accurately set up in the system prior to pilot runs.

Reporting:

Generate standard daily and weekly reports on schedule adherence, material shortages, and line capacity utilization for management review.

Required Experience & Qualifications

2 to 4 years

of experience in a planning, material control, or scheduling support role within a manufacturing environment.

Foundational knowledge of the

Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS)

or a similar high-tech assembly sector. Exposure to complex system integration is a plus.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.

Practical experience working with

ERP/MRP systems

(e.g., SAP, Oracle). Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly

Excel , for data analysis and tracking.

Basic understanding of manufacturing workflow, demand planning principles, and the relationship between inventory and production schedules.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, problem-solving attitude. Strong verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Work Environment:

Duties are performed in a professional office setting with frequent time spent on the manufacturing floor for material verification and communication with production teams.

Physical Demands:

Primarily a desk-based role with frequent walking to different areas of the plant. Requires strong focus for data entry and system analysis.

Flexibility:

Must be able to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly to unexpected changes in the production schedule.
