Overview
Insight Global is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join a large streaming service on a hybrid schedule in NYC. As a Manual QA Engineer, this person will be orchestrating end‑to‑end testing efforts to plan, design, execute, and report the delivery of features for the team’s technology roadmap and various projects within the global video engineering team.
This role involves creating test documentation artifacts, conducting test phases according to the plan, and providing clear, accurate, and timely reporting of test results. The engineer will provide static analysis of user stories and requirements, communicate any ambiguities or anomalies to stakeholders, and actively contribute to manual testing across various testing types for developing an SDK that includes a set of tools related to video playback.
Pay Pay rate: $50–60/hr.
Responsibilities The successful candidate will:
Plan, design, execute, and report on end‑to‑end testing efforts for features and projects.
Document test artefacts and conduct staged test phases according to the testing plan.
Provide clear, accurate, and timely reporting of test results to stakeholders.
Analyze user stories and requirements; communicate any ambiguities or anomalies to the team.
Contribute to manual testing across multiple testing types, including SDK and tool development for video playback.
Coordinate with iOS and Apple device teams to ensure functional quality of video playback features.
Qualifications
2–5 years of experience as a Manual QA Engineer.
Experience working with iOS devices.
Experience with Charles Proxy or Proxyman.
Experience with test management and issue‑logging tools such as JIRA, GitHub, or Zephyr.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze application and network logs.
Experience in cloud computing solutions, preferably AWS.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Understanding of Video Streaming Technologies
Major streaming protocols (e.g., DASH/HLS).
Adaptive bitrate streaming.
Video playback fundamentals.
