Regional Senior Project Manager OSP
Locations: Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Kansas City, MO; Kansas City, KS; Phoenix, AZ; Reno, NV.
About the Role: Direct Line is a high‑growth global technology services company focused on design, integration, installation, maintenance, and managed services for data centers and technology companies. We are looking for a highly energetic, result‑oriented, passionate and hands‑on Senior Project Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter, adaptable, attentive to detail, and able to work with minimal supervision.
The Senior Project Manager will lead Outside Plant (OSP) construction projects for data center deployments. Responsibilities include overseeing multiple projects, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards. The role involves coordinating with project management, human resources, and technicians, maintaining safety standards, managing personnel resources, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and union contracts.
Travel: 50–60% expected. Candidates may be based in or around Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Kansas City, MO; Chicago, IL; or Phoenix, AZ.
What You’ll Do:
Must be willing to travel 50%+.
Oversee and drive the delivery of multiple data center OSP construction projects from start to finish. Collaborate with Site Project Managers to develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Monitor progress, track budget, and address potential delays or cost overruns.
Manage and coordinate with site teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders; lead project meetings and provide status updates.
Negotiate scopes, timelines, and payment terms with internal OSP resources, contractors, and vendors.
Provide technical expertise and participate in pre‑construction activities, including constructability reviews, scheduling, and pre‑bid input.
Oversee technician manpower scheduling, union contract administration (layoffs/recalls), time‑card reporting, and fleet vehicle/equipment maintenance.
Collaborate with Project Managers on manpower loading, budgeting, and material staging.
Conduct regular site visits based on project proximity and maintain full project scope awareness.
Assist in managing project close‑out activities (testing, as‑builts).
Participate in the bid process for resources, equipment, and services; oversee purchase orders and work orders.
Manage a dynamic supply chain inventory of materials and logistics.
Coach, mentor, and train site‑based teams; provide direction to supervisors, foremen, technicians, and subcontractors.
Develop and implement reporting mechanisms to track progress, schedule adherence, costing, and budget performance.
Conduct proactive risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies.
Serve as the primary interface for the client; assist with city or agency approval processes and permitting.
Ensure job safety requirements are understood and implemented by all personnel and contractors; support foremen/leads with on‑site safety meetings and review safety programs.
Review plans and specifications for constructability and scheduling issues; assist PMs with quantity takeoffs and pricing estimates.
Maintain the process for daily time‑card reporting and follow up on late submissions; report all safety incidents to relevant personnel.
Complete all required project documentation.
What You’ll Need:
10+ years of related experience or equivalent role.
OSHA 30 certification.
Valid motor‑vehicle record requiring proper badging and client jobsite access.
Proficiency with construction management software.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong understanding of building plans, specifications, and systems.
Team player with field supervision, project management, and company administration skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of legal issues and safety standards.
Excellent time‑management and decision‑making abilities.
High capacity for motivation, leadership, and morale building.
Strong focus on quality and safety.
Self‑starter who sets goals and tasks with strong leadership capability.
Ability to handle pressure and remain calm under challenging situations.
Willingness to travel extensively across multiple sites.
