We’re looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer located in Henrico, VA. Reporting to the Business Excellence Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer role involves planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes by providing technical support and maintenance of manufacturing methods. What a typical day looks like:

Understand manufacturing and test equipment concepts, technologies and techniques.

Design manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters.

Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.

Define equipment maintenance requirements, identify root causes of equipment failures and develop hands‑on maintenance skills.

Work with other engineering stakeholders and customers on problem solving and continuous improvement to the design of equipment and products, and may develop corrective and preventive action plans.

May be involved in development and update of PFMEA for new products.

May participate in control plan development.

Write and update work instructions and other documents (e.g. specifications, procedures,…).

Analyze and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

Confere with production group concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

Coordinate with customers to determine product specifications and design changes and respond to customer request.

Provide information for management decisions from a technical and cost perspective.

Confere with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.

Related experience in manufacturing of electrical components is preferred.

Use of the following tools may be required: CAD, robot and PLC programming, and other automation components.

Testing: oscilloscope, cable and harness testing, troubleshooting, component testing, logic analyzer. Inspection: bare board, systems, components, cable and harness, microscope, measuring tools.

Mechanical & Electrical Tools: taps and dies, alignment tools, measuring tools.

Office skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include word processing, spreadsheet and presentation package.
