Pay Range for this position is: $175,000-$260,000 plus annual bonus, depending on experience.
Position Summary We are looking for a dynamic leader to manage our beverage manufacturing facility in Seabrook. The Plant Manager reports to the Vice President of Manufacturing and will be responsible for implementing business strategies and managing operational activities for achieving established goals and operational objectives. This position will manage compliance with safety and quality standards as well as the P&L and all plant operations including 200+ employees.
Primary Responsibilities
Set a vision for safety improvements in OIR and LTIR using Behavioral Observation Safety as a key enabler of behavioral change in the workforce.
Maintain compliance in all OSHA required elements including LOTO and Arc Flash.
Ensure 100% compliance with food safety programs in the plants including SQF III sustainment, HACCP and FSMA.
Champion efforts to improve FRQ (first run quality) and plant 5S.
Maintain 99%+ order fill and on-time delivery across three DCs.
Identify opportunities to improve CPH performance of the facility through OEE/TEEP.
Maintain a solid working relationship with Union Leadership.
Participate in Union Contract Negotiation.
Develop and execute business plans and KPI’s that align with corporate objectives by setting plant objectives and implementing necessary actions to attain them
Establish and manage plant operational budgets and implement actions to control day-to-day costs and achieve financial objectives
Own the plant operating and capital budgets.
Establish workforce and capital requirements to meet business strategies
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages oversight for all departments in the plant, inducing: Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, Quality and Supply Chain
Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, and assessing job results; coaching, and counseling employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, procedures, and productivity standards.
Motivate, coach and develop direct reports to ensure an engaged workforce
Routinely review business results with management team and set goals and objectives to achieve the results
Manage continuous improvement integration and cost reduction methods
Effectively communicate plant goals, objectives and results to various levels of the organization
Implement strategic goals; identifying and evaluating trends; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes.
Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities
Lead and support a food safety and food quality culture within the location
Establish, document, and communicate to all relevant staff of food safety and quality objectives and performance measure
Empower and encourage employees to act to resolve food safety and quality issues within their scope of work
Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the food safety and quality culture within the location
Effectively communicate all key performance indicators and objectives to employees
Ensure staffing and adequate resources are maintained to meet objectives
Educate all staff to understand the importance of food safety and food quality controls and deviation consequences.
Accountable for food safety, food quality and regulatory requirements for their position
Encouraged to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues
Adopt and maintain all SQF requirements for their position
Empowerment to work with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues within their scope of work
Education and Experience Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Food Science or Engineering or equivalent.
Ten plus years of progressive experience and proven results in high-speed food/beverage or CPG. Prior experience at the Ops Manager or Plant Manager level is required.
Strong continuous improvement skills using Lean/Sigma or TPM/TPS.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Charisma to conduct town halls and articulate a vision in front of a large group.
Strong organizational and time-management skills – knows how to set the strategic direction but flexible enough to adjust day-to-day priorities accordingly.
Additional Qualifications
Master’s degree in business administration or applicable discipline.
PET bottling, canning and aseptic experience is highly desired.
Food experience highly desired.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.
Frequent:
Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).
Occasional:
Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
