Job Summary We are seeking dynamic Banquet & Event Staff members who are willing to work in various areas, including Events, Banquet Set-up, and Kitchen Prep. As a Banquet and Event Staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of conferences, corporate gatherings, fast‑paced picnics, and other special occasions. Your exceptional serving skills, professionalism, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment will contribute to creating memorable experiences for our guests. One year of banquet or serving experience is strongly preferred, along with experience in event setup, food prep, and industrial cleaning tasks. You must be willing to work in multiple areas of expertise and provide the highest level of guest service.

Responsibilities

Guest Service: Welcome and greet guests with a positive attitude, answer their questions, and exceed expectations every shift.

Event Setup: Set up buffets, beverage stations, tables, and décor to ensure they are organized and visually appealing.

Attention to Detail: Follow instructions carefully and demonstrate a keen eye for accuracy in all tasks.

Time Management: Manage time effectively to complete cleaning, maintenance, and event tasks within designated timeframes.

Adaptability: Assist in a variety of tasks, including dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and other general cleaning duties as event demands change.

Event Cleanup: Clear tables, remove trash, wipe surfaces, and restock supplies to maintain cleanliness and orderliness.

Food & Beverage Preparation: Assist in preparing food and beverages, ensuring quality and adherence to established standards.

Team Collaboration: Work effectively with bartenders, kitchen staff, and event coordinators to ensure seamless service and successful execution.

Guest Interaction: Greet guests warmly, answer questions, and provide friendly, helpful service throughout events.

Food Safety & Alcohol Service: Understand and adhere to all food safety procedures; sell beer and wine in compliance with state laws and company policies.

Cash Handling: Operate the cash register, handle money, and determine correct change following company policies.

Reporting & Communication: Inform the lead team member or supervisor of any concerns or issues during events.

Additional Duties: Perform any other work assigned by the supervisor to contribute to the smooth operation of banquet and event services.

Requirements

Experience: Strongly prefer at least one year of banquet or serving experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Experience in banquets, serving, event setup, food prep, and industrial cleaning tasks is highly advantageous.

Serving Skills: Possess exceptional serving skills, including knowledge of proper food and beverage service etiquette, tray service, wine service, and familiarity with various dining styles.

Professionalism: Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, maintaining a neat and well-groomed appearance, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry trays or heavy items, and navigate crowded event spaces.

Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, remain calm under pressure, and maintain flexibility with schedules.

Attention to Detail: Exhibit keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in setting up events and maintaining cleanliness.

Enthusiasm: Interact with guests and provide excellent customer service, showing enthusiasm for the role.

Work Schedule: Ability to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Uniform & Grooming: Wear the correct company-issued uniform for the scheduled shift and conform to company grooming and food safety hygiene requirements.

Age & Legal Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, able to work past 2 a.m. as needed. Must obtain a CA Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire and ABC certification (if serving alcohol) within the first 30 days.

Physical Requirements

Walk, bend, stretch, and stand for up to eight hours at a time.

Climb stairs and lift up to 40 pounds from ground to waist height.

Work in a noisy, fast-paced environment and handle food service orders accurately.

Benefits & Additional Information Shifts may range from 5 a.m. to as late as 2 a.m.; flexibility and availability on weekends are required. All personnel are expected to maintain a high standard of guest service, teamwork, and safety compliance.
