Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. General Function Assists with institutional effectiveness, assessment, and data collection efforts
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution and at least one year of full‑time institutional‑level data collection and reporting experience
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution and at least two years full‑time higher education experience including institutional data collection and reporting experience as well as experience with institutional level accreditation efforts
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Develops, administers, summarizes findings and reports on surveys and data collections including Institutional assessments, general education course assessments, division surveys, and departmental program evaluations, and job placement
Provides data research and analysis using Excel, ARGOS, and other applications for required reports including Perkins Grants, THEC Quality Assurance Funding, Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE), MSCC Fact Book, as well as other external and internal surveys and requests
Assistants in facilitating Strategic Planning and continuous improvement meetings as well as other events, training sessions, and forums
Attends meetings at governing boards and agencies on strategic planning, institutional effectiveness and research as requested or required
Research and evaluate new methods of employing technology to improve assessment data planning, analysis, reporting, and communication
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of survey software and data manipulation packages
Knowledge of research methodologies and assessment
Ability to conduct research, develop professional reports, and make presentations of reports and research results to institutional representatives
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies
Ability to interpret, understand, and apply statistical data
Ability to communicate effectively statistical data and data set information to an audience with limited or no knowledge in statistical calculations or methods to enable informed decision‑making
