Position Title Level II Designer, OSP (Non‑Exempt)
Position Overview ADB is a nationwide full‑turnkey provider of technology infrastructure solutions, including wireline, wireless, and engineering. We are looking for a Level II Designer, OSP to provide utility fiber route designs within the OSP Engineering team. This position will work closely with engineering and construction to deliver high‑quality mid‑level designs of aerial and underground fiber installs.
Responsibilities
Use GIS/3GIS to create mid‑level fiber/coax design aerial, underground, and FTTx route maps and perform route analysis.
Design and size mainlines, laterals, hubs, splices, splitter cabinets, and terminals.
Allocate fiber for splicing matrix and prepare splicing plans.
Conduct field surveys of outside plant in both aerial and underground facilities, develop running line, splice sheets, loss budgets, and other design elements.
Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external customers to determine component selection, routing, and network architecture guidelines.
Create and maintain documentation records of design deliverables and BOMs for project management.
Perform field walk‑outs for construction move projects and customer maintenance programs.
Participate in meetings with local municipalities to plan utility construction projects.
Collect and operate geospatial tools (e.g., LiDAR) to capture all required field data.
Perform quality‑control reviews of designs for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
Collaborate with construction project managers and field personnel to ensure timely delivery of design and engineering services.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Mid‑level knowledge of cable design such as CTBH, 5G, EPON, etc.
Mid‑level knowledge of construction drawings and documents.
Work Environment
Operates within a temperature‑controlled office environment.
Uses standard office equipment such as laptops, projectors, copy/fax machines, and smartphones.
Experience & Education
1–3 years of OSP design experience in telecommunications.
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering preferred but not required.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Compensation The starting pay for this position is $28.00 per hour and may vary based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
