Position Summary Construction Services provides a skilled carpentry crew for commercial and institutional projects. The primary responsibilities include framing metal‑stud walls, installing hollow‑metal jambs, hanging drywall, repairing and replacing stucco and plaster, texture matching, and other journeyman carpentry duties.
Responsibilities
Lay out and frame metal‑stud walls, soffits and chases in commercial and institutional projects.
Set up hollow‑metal jambs, doors and hardware, and hang and finish drywall.
Repair and replace stucco, plaster, and apply texture matching for drywall surfaces.
Use specialized finishing tools such as banjo and bazooka, and manage dust control and containment.
Provide skillful cabinet, countertop, and shelving installation as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of full‑time experience in framing and drywall (steel stud framing, hollow‑metal jambs, sheetrock hanging and finishing).
OR a combination of related education, formal apprenticeship program, and/or framing and drywall experience equivalent to four (4) years (transcripts required if education is used).
Preferred Qualifications
Commercial framing and drywall experience.
Experience with hollow‑metal jambs, doors and hardware.
Blueprint reading and interpretation.
Mentoring apprentice‑level trades staff.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
State service experience.
