The Electrical and Controls Engineer II will execute plant support, troubleshooting, and lead improvement projects for the Richmond, IN facility and support capital projects as needed. The role will assist the plant in meeting or exceeding operational, environmental, and safety goals, mentor junior engineers and electricians, and provide training. Engineer will handle plant projects from start to finish on a broad range of industrial electrical and control system manufacturing projects, including scope documents, engineering calculations and designs, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, project justifications, and training documentation. Your Day to Day
Perform power, electrical and control systems engineering for all aspects of projects. Prepare and review technical electrical specifications for equipment, processes and projects. Troubleshoot and correct operational issues. Participate in / lead root cause corrective actions to prevent re‑occurrence of issues. Provide on‑call support to plant operations for electrical and controls issues. Assist in review and implementation of corporate specifications and standards. Track and prioritize issues in conjunction with other departments. Assist facility with manufacturing operations and execute electrical safety initiatives. Maintain good communication with management and project customers regarding project status, problems, and changes. Coordinate External Engineering Resources
Coordinate, review, provide oversight, and manage external engineering resources and consultants as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with a minimum of 3 years of experience in control systems engineering in a continuous or discrete manufacturing environment. Demonstrated electrical and control system engineering capabilities. Ability to provide solutions to basic project and process engineering problems. Solid knowledge of Allen‑Bradley PLC and HMI applications (including programming) and communications within enterprise and control networked systems. Knowledge of DCS/SCADA systems. Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics and engineering drawings. Demonstrated project management skills. Knowledge of the NFPA 70E standard for electrical safety (arc flash energy and shock hazards). Ability to manage and support multiple (1–3) projects simultaneously. Experience managing projects $50 k–$200 k. Collaboration with internal and external engineering resources. Good analytical and problem‑solving skills. Drive and initiative to complete tasks and pursue improvement opportunities. Ability to design and execute projects within North America. Requires travel (10 %). Preferred Requirements
Experience in the engineering and implementation of 480 V (switchgear, power distribution panel, motor control center) and 4160 V power distribution systems. Knowledge in Honeywell systems (DCS). AutoCAD electrical experience. Benefits
