Job Title: Mid-Level Land Surveyor

Position Location: Greater Boston

Approx. Length of Position: Direct Hire

Degree Required: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.

We are looking to hire a Mid-Level Land Surveyor with 4–6 years of professional experience to support a variety of surveying and site design projects. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to all phases of survey work—from field data collection to deliverable preparation—while working closely with engineers, landscape architects, and planners.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable leading field activities, managing survey data, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams. Licensure is not required, but a strong foundation in surveying principles and standards is essential.

Requirements

4-6 years of professional land surveying experience in civil/site development or related fields.

Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (or MicroStation) and survey data processing software.

Experience with modern survey instruments: total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, data collectors.

Working knowledge of boundary and topographic surveying, construction layout, and ALTA/NSPS standards.

Ability to interpret engineering and architectural plans and perform field-to-finish workflows.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Ability to work outdoors year-round and travel to various project sites as needed.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Experience working within a multidisciplinary design or engineering firm.

Familiarity with 3D scanning, drone surveying, or photogrammetry workflows.

Interest in pursuing professional licensure in the future (PLS or SIT).

Familiarity with Massachusetts and New England land surveying standards and permitting processes.

Technical

Conduct boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction layout, and as-built surveys.

Perform field data collection using GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and other modern surveying instruments.

Prepare detailed survey drawings, base maps, easement exhibits, and other deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D (or similar platforms).
