Job Description
This role will master the Automated equipment Technology, will use their knowledge and experience in Automation techniques to assist production in the resolution of complex equipment breakdowns or inefficiencies as well as development, implementation of equipment re-design to improve efficiency and or reduce downtime due to repetitive parts failures.
Lead and/or participate in activities related to CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), QNs (Quality Notifications) and customer complaints. Such as but not limited to root cause analysis, failure investigation and design/development and implementation of equipment corrective actions.
Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, following GMPs and GDPs standards, all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.
This position requires flexibility to assist during weekends and or schedule shutdowns to implement equipment modifications, to adjust to production and scheduling necessities to reduce impact to the operation, for this it will require to coordinate with production, process engineering and quality the implementation of equipment changes.
Responsibilities
Lead multifunctional teams for the development of new high-speed automated equipment for the manufacturing of medical devices.
Design, execute and document PFMEA, process validations, and testing in accordance with cGMPs based in ISO-13485 standard.
Performs the role of SME (Subject matter expert about troubleshooting, and maintenance of high-speed automated equipment.
Use their technical knowledge and experience in troubleshooting to resolve issues and to improve the performance of the automated machines through the implementation of Poka-Yokes, SMED and TPM methodologies.
Strong Experience and knowledge in technologies:
Robots: FANUC, ABB, Epson and Stäubli (strong experience with pick and place applications)
Rockwell Automation Software: Studio 5000 (RSLogix 5000), Factory Talk Machine Edition/Site Edition, etc.
Servo Motion Controls System as Kinetix Servo drives, Sinamics or similar
Advanced process control as Fuzzy Logix, Profibuss, ProfiNet networks, PID Function and Functional Charts Language, Ethernet-IP / TCP-IP Networks.
Development and programming Vision Systems such as Cognex (Insight 5000, 2000, micro, Keyence CVX, IV, Banner).
Product and parts identification including RFID and Barcoding (software, printers, and readers).
Pneumatics and electropneumatic, mechanical knowledge, electronics.
Ultrasonic welding,
InkJet printers (Domino, Lynx, Markem Image, Keyence).
Thermos transfer printers, flexographic printers and digital printers.
Packaging equipment (Multivac, Tiromat GEA, Viking Masek, Foremost Fuji, Volpack).
Solid 3D modeling and AutoCad.
Design and development of controls and electrical panels/cabinets.
Oversee all safety procedures and identify/communicate the necessary adjustments to address potential safety concerns, including the proper use of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
Work with BD production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure that goals are met.
Maintain primary communication of performance goals and requirements identified by management.
Support CAPA activities as required (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to address systemic issues in the manufacturing and quality systems.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or similar
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience working with high-speed equipment based in Rockwell Automation platform.
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience working with Vision Systems such as Cognex (Insight 5000, 2000, micro, Keyence CVX, IV, Banner).
Experience in design/development of tooling, electrical panels, pneumatic controls and PLC programs and create codes from scratch.
Have worked in high volume processes, desirable on medical industry.
Participate in the URS, IQ, OQ, PQ, SV protocols development and execution.
