Description Lab Tech is responsible for handling all specimens and lab samples in a safe and efficient manner, reviewing specimen packages for complete information, and routing/delivering specimens to the appropriate destination within the lab.
Responsibilities
Handle all specimens and lab samples (blood, saliva, urine, stool, etc.) safely and efficiently.
Review specimen package for complete information and route/deliver specimens to the appropriate destination within the lab.
Scan in or manually enter specimen and patient information into LabCorp's internal system, Touch.
Sort samples into specific bins based on category and/or lab code.
Maintain an inclusive environment and build a culture of care, engagement, and recognition with clear outcomes.
Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED.
Strong work ethic and motivation to hit performance metrics.
Strong data entry and organizational skills.
Coachable and able to take and initiate feedback.
High level of attention to detail.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Positive, hardworking, takes initiative, works well with others.
Proven reliability and positive attendance.
Laboratory experience, ASCPT certification, medical laboratory experience, specimen processing, data entry, accessioning, specimen collection, sample prep.
Entry Level.
Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
