Purpose Statement The
Sanitation Associate
is responsible for controlling all environmental and in‑depth equipment cleaning to ensure the safety and quality of food products.
Key Accountabilities & Outcomes
Disassemble, clean, and set up all production equipment using COP and CIP systems; verify proper cleaning and equipment setup.
Put away production and sanitation materials; operate material handling equipment.
Monitor and test chemical concentrations of all CIP systems; maintain CIP chart recorders and related documentation.
Take inventory of sanitation supplies and use bioluminescence technology to verify CIP systems.
Perform tasks according to the plant Master Cleaning Schedule.
Perform basic troubleshooting of all sanitation equipment.
Train new associates on required skill sets for environmental operations.
Maintain a safe and orderly work area in accordance with GMP and safety guidelines.
Operate the SCADA system and complete appropriate paperwork.
Perform other related duties as assigned by Lead personnel.
Train in other plant areas as required by the Skillblock program, including Valve and Pump PM program.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to train other associates in sanitation/environmental operations.
Ability to operate effectively as a member of a self‑directed work team.
Proficiency in SCADA systems.
Awareness of and adherence to Associate Safety, GMP, and food safety guidelines.
Understanding of proper machine operating and adjusting procedures.
Ability to participate in production improvement, associate involvement, and temporary teams as assigned.
