We’re seeking a Product Development & Production Manager, Footwear & Accessories to lead the end-to-end process for these growing categories. This individual will manage the seasonal product lifecycle from concept through production, partnering closely with Design, Merchandising, and Production to deliver best-in-class product that meets brand, margin, and timing goals.
Key Responsibilities Product Development Leadership
Oversee and manage the full product development calendar for footwear and accessories, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are met across all seasons.
Translate design concepts into viable product through technical development, costing, and vendor management.
Own the prototype, sampling, and fitting process, ensuring accuracy in materials, construction, and execution.
Collaborate with Design and Merchandising to ensure creative intent aligns with target cost, quality, and functionality.
Vendor & Sourcing Management
Partner with existing and new vendors across domestic and international regions to ensure adherence to SKIMS’ standards of innovation, quality, and sustainability.
Lead cost negotiations and track margins throughout development.
Troubleshoot production and quality issues with vendors; proactively propose solutions to meet brand expectations and delivery timelines.
Manage seasonal material sourcing, testing, and approvals in partnership with the Materials team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work cross-functionally with Design, Production, Technical Design, and Planning to ensure development aligns with business objectives.
Communicate product and material updates to all relevant teams, maintaining accuracy across line sheets, BOMs, and PLM systems.
Lead internal milestone meetings and sample reviews, driving accountability and follow-through on next steps.
Operational & Process Management
Maintain and manage seasonal product development trackers, cost sheets, and vendor WIPs.
Partner with Production to ensure smooth transition from development to bulk manufacturing.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and support scalability within a fast-growing category.
Manage and mentor the PD Assistant to ensure accuracy, organization, and professional growth.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Fashion Design, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in footwear and/or accessories, ideally in a fashion or lifestyle brand environment.
Deep understanding of materials, components, and manufacturing processes for both footwear and accessories.
Proven ability to manage multiple seasons and categories simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication, vendor negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
