Description Balanced Body is hiring for a Senior Procurement Buyer. The role is located in our Sacramento manufacturing plant where products are designed, manufactured, and shipped worldwide. The successful candidate will work closely with other buyers and with cross‑functional teams in Production, Engineering, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Quality. They will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, hardware components, MRO supplies, professional services, and specialized technology, software, and equipment.
Responsibilities
Plan for and generate purchase orders for:
Raw Materials and Hardware Components
Maintenance, Repair, and Operational (MRO) Supplies
Professional Services
Support Engineering with current and new product introductions, including sourcing specialized technology, software, and equipment.
Partner with Quality to investigate and resolve non‑conformance issues with suppliers, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Coordinate with suppliers and Quality to manage and review First Article Inspection (FAI) reports for new or revised parts.
Manage key MRP system parameters for assigned suppliers (lead‑time, reorder point, MOQ, min‑max).
Maintain assigned supplier reports, including past‑due, open orders, and vendor returns.
Work closely with suppliers and the Purchasing Manager to ensure on‑time delivery, best price, and superior quality products and services.
Identify cost‑saving initiatives and low‑cost market opportunities.
Follow up and resolve all price, quantity, and quality discrepancies with suppliers.
Responsible for inventory control, supplier coordination, and material tracking.
Expedite materials and services with suppliers when needed.
Interface with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Accounting, and other departments to provide product and part availability, improve service levels, and resolve quantity, price, or invoice issues.
Establish and maintain relationships with current and potential vendors.
Perform other duties as required to support company needs.
Qualifications
At least 5+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with MRP (preferably Microsoft Dynamics Business Central 365).
Experience generating purchase orders, reviewing inventory, and running reports within an ERP system.
Experience with replenishment methods such as VMI, Kanban, and blanket orders.
Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) and Where‑Used reports.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Exceptional verbal, written, and interactive communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Work Schedule Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
