Student Life Clerical – Student Employment This position supports Student Development staff by performing a wide range of basic clerical and office tasks for the University.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Student Life clerical position supports the functional areas of Student Development, including housing, activities, orientation, and organizations, as well as the Office of the Dean of Students and the Vice President for Student Life.

Greets visitors and guests, and assists staff during meetings.

Provides assistance with information regarding programs and events.

Performs clerical tasks such as copying, filing, scanning, and preparing documents; answers phones and directs callers to the appropriate staff members.

Becomes familiar with university policies, procedures, and general information to assist with inquiries.

Uses software that supports department operations, including eRezLife (housing), Canva (event marketing), and The Den (student organizations).

Assists with special projects and assignments within the Division of Student Life.

Runs errands throughout the university and represents the office in a professional and courteous manner when visiting other offices on campus.

Follows procedures when handling petty cash requests.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be a current student at Saint Xavier University.

Must be eligible for Federal Work‑Study.

Resume and cover letter required.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Strong organizational skills.

Clear and effective communication abilities.
