What to Expect We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lab Supervisor to lead our team of technicians responsible for laboratory operations, including quality control, testing, and inspection of materials and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, material science, or a related field, with expertise in laboratory operations, quality management, and leadership. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to drive improvements, respond to quality excursions, and bring structure and performance to the team.

What You'll Do

Lead and manage a team of lab technicians, delegating responsibilities, managing schedules, and providing coaching, training, and guidance to ensure team effectiveness

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and elevate quality issues to management and engineering, assisting in corrective actions and driving improvements

Manage material disposition, ensuring proper inspection and testing of materials, and enforce 5S and workplace hygiene standards for a safe and organized environment

Develop and implement operating procedures for the lab to ensure efficient, effective, and compliant processes with regulatory requirements

Troubleshoot common equipment issues, work with external vendors for non-trivial problems, and assist with test methods development, validation, and handover

Provide regular reports and updates to the quality team and management, highlighting key performance metrics and areas for improvement

Coordinate with production, site maintenance, equipment, and chemical vendors to ensure smooth lab operations

What You'll Bring

Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or equivalent experience

Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a quality or laboratory setting

Strong knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, or IATF 16949

Proficiency in technical drawing interpretation, including GD&T, and measurement systems

Experience in statistical process control and data analysis techniques

Certification in a quality-related field, such as Six Sigma or TQM, is a plus

Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
