Under the direction of the Project Manager and/or the locksmith, you will install, repair, modify, and open a variety of locking mechanisms for doors, desks, safes, and other equipment. You will examine and replace worn parts, open locks using various methods, create keys, change combinations, and maintain keying systems for buildings. Pay Rate:
$50.24 hourly Work Model:
Onsite Responsibilities
Install, repair, modify, and open a variety of locking mechanisms found on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, safes, and vaults. Examine locking mechanisms and install new units or disassemble units and replace worn tumblers, springs, and other parts, or repair them by filing, drilling, chiseling, and grinding. Open door locks by moving the lock‑pick in the cylinder or open safe locks by listening to lock sounds or drilling. Make new or duplicate keys using a key‑cutting machine. Change combinations by inserting new or repaired tumblers into locks. Establish keying systems for buildings. Job Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent GED. Experience must be journeyman level. General knowledge of hand and power tools. Certification to work on the following GSA and specialized locks: Trilogy T3 PDL3000/3500, Trilogy T2 DL2700, CDX-10, Simplex L1000, and LKM-700. Familiarity with applicable environmental codes and standards. Basic mathematical skills. Professional, courteous communication with diverse people. Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision. Pass pre‑hire background and drug screen. U.S. Citizen. Maintain required intelligence‑community level clearance. Valid state driver’s license. Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds. Reasonable Accommodation
