Job Summary We are hiring immediately for a full‑time Sous Chef position. The role helps the Executive Chef prepare and cook foods, coordinates activities of cooks and other food‑service associates, and assumes responsibility for the kitchen and food‑service associates in the absence of the Executive Chef.
Location & Schedule
Location: Starbucks – 2401 Utah Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98134
Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, hours may vary (flexible)
Compensation
Fixed Pay Rate: $32.00 per hour
Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring all deadlines are met based on production orders.
Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, reviews, and disciplinary action.
Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils; cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area; keeps display equipment clean.
Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner.
Demonstrates accurate understanding of daily menu items and explains them to associates and customers.
Remains up to date with peak production and service hours.
Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracks consumption and waste, and informs supervisor when supplies are low.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous culinary and management experience preferred.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
