This position is responsible for summarizing problem characteristics, systems resource tuning, defining systems requirements, designing solutions to systems problems, updating systems/software to current releases and integrating and coordinating diverse technologies for computing systems and network administration functions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL:
Initiates and evaluates the most current technology available and prepares written recommendations for implementation.
Analyzes the effect of upgrades and enhancements to software and determines the optimum configuration and impact on existing production systems, system design, databases, and operating procedures.
Develops and provides training to other shared services team members.
Troubleshoots server systems hosting applications and services critical to the enterprise, including operating systems, networking, load balancing, firewalls, cloud systems, cybersecurity, and identity systems. Work on new projects and technologies in support of business needs. Analyzes problems when they occur and resolves problems to ensure service availability.
Initiates and/or updates incident report tickets; tracks assigned open ticket activity and ensures timely resolution per Service Level Agreement (SLAs). Ensures all assigned requests for assistance are correctly recorded, classified and assigned the applicable priority, urgency and resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
A minimum of five years of experience with system administration with specific experience with on-line/interactive processes.
A minimum of five years of experience working with Linux servers, automation and scripting, Windows Server enterprise client/server systems, Active Directory, Azure/Office 365, and VMware server virtualization
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Proficiency in file systems, database management, cloud management, current hardware systems architecture and client/server techniques
Proficiency in operations and programming, including a thorough knowledge of hardware, software and operating systems, and cloud technologies
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
Ability to use sound judgment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to support critical systems after hours, nights and weekends as needed
Ability to respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
Ability to conceptualize wide range of enterprise administrative issues
Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Ability to work in various environments, which can include, but is not limited to, working with dust, dirt, gravel, fumes, exhaust, various noise levels, various temperatures, for an extended length of time as well as in various outdoor, sometimes extreme, weather conditions as required.
Ability to stay alert and aware of surrounding operating environment.
Ability and willingness to work in confined spaces and at heights.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs., push/pull up to 100 lbs., and work with arms held in an overhead position.
