for Gulf of Mexico projects.

This is a direct hire position
Offshore on a 28/28 rotation
Working 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week (total 84 hours/week) – guaranteed 44 hours overtime a week
Completion of a competency exam (written and practical) as part of the process
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US indefinitely without present or future need for visa sponsorship. No sponsorship available
Position Summary The role emphasizes advanced ultrasonic testing (UT) methods, including Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) Corrosion Mapping. This position requires travel to client sites, manufacturing facilities, and offshore locations to perform inspections, support project needs, and deliver exceptional technical expertise. Travel will be mostly domestic with potential for some international travel.
Duties And Responsibilities
Perform specialized NDE inspections, including PAUT, AUT Corrosion Mapping, and other advanced ultrasonic testing methods on piping, pressure vessels, pipelines, and structural components in onshore and offshore environments.
Analyze, interpret, and compile inspection results to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
Prepare and execute jobs, following work instructions, with specific emphasis on specialist techniques. Assist and support SIS Management in day‑to‑day activities.
Work closely with clients to understand project requirements and deliver tailored NDE solutions.
Provide clear and concise technical reports and presentations of inspection findings to clients.
Responsible for equipment, maintenance, and QHSE (Oceaneering and Client) document control.
Continue training to receive qualifications in other conventional and advanced NDE methods and technologies.
Assist in training for associate technicians, which will include in‑house and field training, mentoring, and annual assessments to ensure competency.
Perform advanced ultrasonic examinations of onshore pipelines, plant piping systems, offshore topside and subsea piping systems.
Maintain test sample logs and assessing the requirements for test sample acquisition.
Be thoroughly familiar with the scope, capabilities, and limitations of the techniques and methods in which certified.
Assist the Technical Management team in Business Development, including updating information sheets, technical bulletins and attending open days, workshops, and industry trade conferences.
Travel to client sites, manufacturing facilities and offshore.
Keep abreast of technical developments within the SIS group and industry.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSE & Q) policies.
Mentor and support Level I and II NDE technicians in the application of advanced ultrasonic methods and technologies.
Ensure team compliance with best practices, client requirements, and industry standards.
Travel to client sites, manufacturing facilities, and offshore locations, often with short notice.
Adapt to challenging work environments, including confined spaces, elevated areas, and adverse weather conditions.
Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet project deadlines.
Commitment to adhering to strict safety and quality standards.
Performs additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications
SNT‑TC‑1A compliant classroom training hours in the following methods: UT, PAUT
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in application of advanced ultrasonic methods
Minimum certification to Level II per ASNT‑TC‑1A or CP‑189 in UT and PAUT required. Candidates will be required to pass related company certification exams
Valid driver’s license
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in the field
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and team members
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Compliance with company and client health, safety, and environmental requirements.
High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience
Previous experience and knowledge of multiple industry segments, including oil & gas, power generation (nuclear and/or fossil), pipeline, new construction and in‑service. International experience a plus
Third party UT certifications such as ACCP, PCN, CSWIP, EPRI, API QUTE, etc.
Experience with multiple ultrasonic equipment and software platforms, specifically Zetec / Ultravision, Olympus / Tomoview. Knowledge of pipeline systems and procedures a plus (i.e., Pipe Wizard AUT system).
SNT‑TC‑1A compliant classroom training hours in the following methods a plus: MT, PT, ET.
Must be able to obtain

Complete knowledge of Microsoft Office
Familiar with Industry Standard Application Software, as well as manufacturer specific advanced NDE technology application software

Working Conditions
This position is considered OFFSHORE WORK which is characterized as follows.
Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.
Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.
Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels, and the light are intense/glare.
Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
Work surface is stable, height is elevated.
Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
