Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Paralegal to join a Litigation Support Team supporting the Department of Justice in Washington, . This position offers the chance to directly contribute to critical Vaccine Court litigation efforts by assisting DOJ attorneys with electronic case filings, discovery preparation, and trial support.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented position ideal for paralegals eager to expand their litigation experience in a fast-paced, high-visibility federal environment.
Responsibilities of the Paralegal
Download and organize Electronic Case Filings (ECFs) from PACER for the DOJ Vaccines Program.
Upload filings into automated case management systems and maintain accurate records.
Enter filing and case data into internal tracking systems with strong attention to detail.
Create and distribute secure document links for DOJ attorneys and respond to information retrieval requests.
Compile and summarize materials for motions, briefs, and discovery.
Conduct simple to moderately complex database searches and perform basic legal research using LEXIS and Westlaw.
Index, track, and control document discovery, depositions, and trial exhibits.
Prepare cross-reference exhibit lists and assist attorneys during courtroom proceedings.
Qualifications for the Paralegal
Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Paralegal Certificate, JD, or current attendance at an ABA-accredited law school (completed at least one year of study).
Alternatively: One (1) year of legal training or experience, or two (2) years of college education may substitute for a certificate.
Minimum 1 year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience related to electronic case filing workflows.
Basic understanding of legal citation formats and case document standards.
Familiarity with LEXIS and Westlaw research tools.
Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000 (dependent on experience)
Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, sick leave, and paid holidays
40-hour workweek maximum — steady schedule supporting federal attorneys and case staff
