Development Coordinator, Principal Gifts Brown University Location: Providence, RI (Hybrid Eligible)

Job Summary The Development Coordinator (DC) is an integral member of the Principal Gift Program and supports the Regional Development team in fundraising and high‑level administrative tasks. The DC coordinates cultivation, engagement, solicitation, and stewardship for prospect portfolios and supports senior fundraisers in building relationships with principal gift‑level alumni, parents, and friends.

Responsibilities

Manage a principal gift portfolio pipeline, including gifts ranging to the high eight figures.

Provide updated information about programs and critical funding opportunities for donor cultivation and proposal development.

Manage selected special events and information technology duties.

Provide regular gift reports and draft strategies, proposals, briefings, and gift agreements to advance relationships and gift conversations and closures.

Coordinate regional travel for senior fundraisers and senior administrators, ensuring effective use of resources.

Ensure adherence to Division policies and best practices in all tasks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in development, nonprofit, fundraising, sales, customer relations, administrative or higher‑education contexts.

Experience in a higher‑education, fundraising, or non‑profit setting is highly desirable.

Knowledge of Blackbaud is a plus.

Experience in event management is desired.

Competencies

Ability to interact and develop relationships with high‑level alumni, parents, prospects and donors.

Proficiency with audio/visual and presentation platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, PowerPoint, etc.).

Expertise in Microsoft and Google platforms, especially Google Calendar, email, Google Docs, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with external and internal constituents; highly collaborative.

Strong organizational and planning skills: initiative, collaboration, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and advancement of strategic plans.

Comfort managing multiple projects under tight deadlines with task accuracy and deadline adherence.

Excellent written and oral communication skills for diverse constituencies.

Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
