Job Summary Handle the design and construction of scalable data management systems, ensure that all data systems meet company requirements, and research new uses for data acquisition. Responsible for understanding industry best practices in data mining, algorithms, and data utilization.
Primary Responsibilities
Design, construct, install, test and maintain data management systems.
Ensure that all systems meet business and company requirements as well as industry practices.
Integrate emerging data management and software engineering technologies into existing data structures.
Develop processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.
Create custom software components and analytics applications.
Research new uses for existing data.
Employ an array of technological languages and tools to integrate systems.
Collaborate with team members (e.g., data architects, the IT team, data scientists) on project goals.
Recommend continuous improvements to data reliability and quality.
Disputes Team Specific Responsibilities Understand the disputes business process and the data behind the dispute case management vendor application.
Build a data product for current state case management data in the bank's Snowflake environment: extract data, push to Snowflake, design and implement the data product in production meeting bank standards and compliance rules.
Expand the effort to add case management data for the bank Forward Debit initiative.
Work and collaborate with various 3rd‑party teams to ensure an efficient, resilient data product that meets business reporting needs.
Must Have Skills
Cloud Snowflake Database
Experience with DBT
Experience with non‑relational & relational databases (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, etc.)
Experience programming and/or architecting data extraction using DataStage or any other data extraction tool
Expertise in writing complex SQL queries
Good understanding of data modeling concepts and experience
Experience working with JSON file formats
Good communication skills
Ability to lead and follow up on one's work
Ability to document work and share knowledge with the rest of the team
Qualifications
Technical degree or related work experience
Strong command of data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
Proficiency in Java, Python, Shell, and bash scripting
Experience in cloud projects, especially in Snowflake and Amazon Redshift
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills
Excellent documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
Prior experience with data quality initiatives, data flow reporting, and problemset analysis
Strong SQL skills and database performance tuning
Experience with source control systems such as Git, source build, and deployment using Jenkins or Azure DevOps
