About This Role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you’ll be a technical lead on a small, high‑impact squad. You’ll own end‑to‑end delivery of complex experiences—from discovery and design partnering to architecture, implementation, quality, and observability. You’ll raise the bar on performance, accessibility, and developer experience while mentoring others and shaping our frontend standards.

Key Responsibilities

Own features from idea → shipped → iterated: collaborate with PM/Design, write crisp technical plans, instrument usage, and refine fast.

Build excellent UIs in React + TypeScript with component composition, state management best practices, and clean data‑fetching patterns.

Champion quality: establish test strategies (unit, integration, E2E), add meaningful types, storybook docs, a11y checks, and performance budgets.

Improve the platform: evolve our design system, routing, auth flows, error handling, caching, and offline‑ready experiences.

Instrument & observe: add telemetry (metrics, logs, traces) to understand UX, reliability, and performance in production.

Collaborate across the stack: shape API contracts with backend engineers; contribute to build tooling and CI/CD where needed.

Mentor & multiply: give incisive code reviews, share patterns, and help level‑up the team’s frontend craft.

Skill Set

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field preferred; high school diploma required.

Ability to come in to our Austin office at least one day per week.

5+ years building production web apps with React + TypeScript (or equivalent modern framework) and strong fundamentals in HTML/CSS.

Proven experience shipping complex, data‑heavy products with excellent UX, a11y (WCAG 2.2 AA), and web performance (Core Web Vitals).

Comfort designing component APIs, state management (e.g., React Query/TanStack, Zustand/Redux), and routing for multi‑view apps.

Fluency integrating REST APIs, handling auth, optimistic updates, and error/retry semantics.

Pragmatic testing (Jest/Vitest, Testing Library, Playwright/Cypress), and familiarity with Storybook or equivalent docs.

Strong product sense, communication, and ownership; you bias to outcomes and collaborative iteration.
