Business Office Manager
Supports facility operations by maintaining business office systems and supervising staff at VASONA CREEK HEALTHCARE CENTER.
Essential Duties
Obtain managed care, Medi-Cal, or Medicaid authorizations, including bedholds.
Assist with managing resident trust fund, including printing and distributing monthly statements.
Supervise business office staff, including applying appropriate disciplinary measures.
Maintain census and report status changes.
Attend stand‑up meetings at the request of the Administrator.
Assist with Medi-Cal or Medicaid applications.
Prepare TARS as needed.
Track Medi-Cal and Medicaid redeterminations.
Participate in billing and payment processes, including preparing bank deposits.
Undertake collection activity for bad debts.
Solve scheduling and assignment of employees; follow up on work results.
Qualifications Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong understanding of skilled nursing billing and payment and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferable one-year experience in a long‑term care facility.
Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend technical procedures and policy manuals.
Effective presentation of information and response to questions from managers and employees.
Mathematical skills (fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions).
Reasoning ability and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
Supervisory Requirements Assist with the overall supervision and management of the business office staff.
Physical Demands Prolonged computer use, standing and walking frequently, sitting occasionally, reaching with hands and arms frequently, pushing/pulling, talking, hearing, tasting/smelling, lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Requires good vision.
Work Environment Low to moderate noise level; reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
