Assistant Project Manager – Hirewell Join Hirewell as an Assistant Project Manager to support the execution of capital projects, tenant improvements, and property upgrades across a national portfolio. This growth role provides critical support to project and asset management teams, ensuring budgets, schedules, and reporting are accurate and reliable. It is designed with a clear path into higher project management positions.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and track multiple projects across the portfolio remotely, from small repairs ($200K+) to large‑scale capital improvements ($20M).

Participate in OAC meetings, track project status, and provide timely updates on schedule, budget, and overall progress.

Review invoices, pay applications, submittals, and change orders for accuracy.

Support tenant improvement (TI) projects, including both landlord‑performed and tenant‑managed work, and review TI reimbursement packages for compliance.

Assist in design and documentation review, ensuring alignment with client standards.

Maintain organized project documentation, meeting minutes, and financial records.

Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, contractors, and clients, adapting to varying standards and requirements.

Learn and apply knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, etc.) to evaluate projects and repairs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

3+ years of experience in construction, project management, or project engineering.

Commercial construction experience (3+ years) – especially in tenant improvement (TI), capital upgrades, or renovation projects.

Background as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Coordinator within a general contractor or owner’s rep environment.

Strong knowledge of RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and construction documentation.

Familiarity with building systems.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and common construction/project software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).

Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple projects.

Strong communication skills, with ability to work closely with both domestic and international clients.

Collaborative, team‑oriented, and adaptable to evolving priorities.

Experience being onsite with hands‑on experience.
