Evaluator – Inside Higher Ed
Position Summary: The Evaluator will support the Educational Services Division’s Instructional Services department by assembling, reviewing, and scoring student academic records, transcripts, and other documentation to determine eligibility and enrollment status. This role ensures compliance with district policies, California Education Code, and relevant procedures.
Pay & Benefits Pay Information Range 26 ($5,431.85 – $7,489.87) per month based on the current step schedule. New employees begin at Step D ($5,431.85). Position is FLSA Non‑exempt (may accrue overtime).
Benefits Excellent benefits for full‑time contracts (≥50% FTE) and eligible dependents, including health, dental, vision, retirement (CalPERS), and paid leave.
Work Schedule & Location Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (may vary to accommodate department needs). Location: District Administrative Office.

Responsibilities
Gather, organize, and verify student transcripts, certificates, and other documentation.
Apply academic policies and procedures to evaluate student records.
Score and assign grades or eligibility based on district standards.
Document findings and maintain accurate filing of records.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to resolve record discrepancies.
Utilize PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office, and advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel, Google Sheets).
Adhere to California Education Code, district policies, and confidentiality practices.
operate independently with little direction while managing timelines.
Desired Qualifications
Familiarity with college transcripts and coding structures.
Knowledge of college catalogs and assessment procedures.
Experience in performing highly technical duties with complex student records.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Proficiency with computer applications, especially Microsoft Office; PeopleSoft preferred.
Ability to interpret policies, procedures, regulations, and California Education Code.
Independent judgment and self‑management with little direction.
Organizational skills to meet schedules and timelines.
Advanced spreadsheet skills for data management and analysis.
Employment Conditions Applicants with foreign degrees must have coursework evaluated by an association member of NACES or ACEI. Evaluation documentation required.
