Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR), the Assistant Director is part of a team responsible for maximizing philanthropic support from corporations and foundations for the School of Medicine. The Assistant Director will contribute to the identification of potential grants and new funders, successful submission of proposals, and optimal stewardship of funders.
Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Cultivation and Solicitation
Contribute to the development and editing of proposals under $100k for corporate and foundation submissions. Work collaboratively with faculty and colleagues to ensure submissions are complete and deadlines met.
Assist with other proposals and solicitation activities as assigned by the Assistant Vice Chancellor.
Cultivate new or existing relationships with CFR funders.
Manage the Gifts‑in‑Kind process for Medical Advancement in coordination with Advancement Services.
Proactively share funding opportunities and relevant funder information with units within the School of Medicine.
Stewardship
Collaborate with Director of Engagement to manage a portfolio of 10‑15 prospects for stewardship activities.
Assist team with grant post‑award coordination, including reports and additional stewardship.
Qualification
Research and investigate prospects to profile targeted grantors for suitability for designated University projects, faculty research or new relationship development.
Other Functions
Participate in and contribute to team strategic planning, professional development, and other duties as assigned.
Work cooperatively with other development officers, faculty, researchers, and WashU staff to further the mission of the CFR team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
