The Role We are looking for an innovative individual who can lead the security advancement and compliance of the platform engineering organization. This includes identifying Lumen policy and industry certification gaps, collaborating with stakeholders on options to remediate the gaps, providing oversight and contributing to the remediation effort to ensure a compliant solution is implemented. As a key member of the team, this role is critical in ensuring the secure and compliant operation of our platforms. The successful candidate will influence security policy and technology directions, protecting our systems against evolving threats.
Location This is a remote position open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S.
Responsibilities
Assess industry advances in technical security technologies and provide implementation recommendation options.
Automate the testing of Lumen policy and industry certification control requirements to validate compliance status.
Partner closely with platform security architects and platform engineering leads to prioritize and assist in the remediation of compliance gaps.
Evangelize security and compliance best practices at every opportunity.
Regularly review and update security documentation to ensure it reflects current industry standards and practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent
US Citizen on US soil
8+ years of software engineering experience including security, compliance and software architecture
AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platforms
Oracle, Postgres Databases
Containers and Container Orchestration
Java, Perl, Go
Security Vulnerability Remediation
Automation
CI/CD Pipelines
API Design & Integration Best Practices
Message Brokers
Agile and Scrum Methodologies
Code Review and Refactoring
Front end development a plus
Compensation This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges
$103,711 - $138,281 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$108,896 - $145,195 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$114,082 - $152,109 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
