Position Overview
The Department of Economics at Skidmore College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, beginning in the fall of 2026.

Key Requirements
Ph.D. in Economics (advanced ABDs may be considered).
Strong desire to teach and research in a liberal arts environment.
Experience or ability to teach microeconomics and econometrics; expertise in health economics strongly preferred, environmental economics also a field of interest.
Excellent teaching record and commitment to student mentorship.
Teaching Responsibilities Teach required and elective courses in microeconomics and econometrics. The standard teaching load is five courses (18 credits) per year, normally involving 2–3 lecture segments. New faculty receive a course release in their first year and are eligible for a pre‑tenure sabbatical.
Research Requirements Develop a research program in health economics or environmental economics and related fields. Submit one research paper, a research statement, and a teaching statement as part of the application.
Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $99,000–$110,000, determined by prior experience, education, discipline, and unique applicable skills.
