Job Summary Airswift is seeking an experienced engineer for a long‑term contract supporting battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. The role is based in Juno Beach, open to remote work but requires occasional in‑office visits and up to 25% travel.

Duties & Responsibilities

Support design phase and engineer major components for large‑scale energy storage projects.

Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and strive for better design quality and efficiency.

Identify and resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions.

Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts.

Support projects from inception to completion by working closely with project managers.

Influence project teams on engineering tasks.

Stay updated on project progress and technical issues.

Manage project milestones and recognize risks.

Collaborate with suppliers to integrate major equipment.

Work with diverse teams to solve problems, improve opportunities, and integrate systems and controls.

Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing, ensure clear communication, and propose solutions.

Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements.

Handle other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in solar/PV engineering and/or construction.

Expertise in one or more of the following areas: power electronics, battery storage system design, substation design, or tie design.

Familiarity with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters.

Familiarity with lithium‑ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections).

Familiarity with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730.

Ability to handle specialized technical tasks independently.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Travel Travel up to 25% of the time for project‑specific duties.
