ABOUT THE POSITION We are seeking a
Senior
Merchandising Manager
to lead U.S. Wholesale merchandising for PFG (Performance Fishing Gear). This role will be responsible for creating consumer‑right product strategies across all tiers and channels of distribution, with a sharp focus on driving growth with specialty accounts while sustaining momentum with established partners across outdoor and sporting goods channels.
The Merchandising Manager will combine consumer insight, marketplace strategy, and disciplined merchandising practices to ensure that PFG continues delivering profitable growth. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of marketplace segmentation, assortment optimization, and cross‑functional leadership, and thrives in an environment that demands both creative vision and analytical rigor. This role will partner closely with design, product management, sales, and marketing to ensure product stories connect with consumers and deliver results.

Marketplace Segmentation & Channel Differentiation
Lead merchandising strategy for all U.S. PFG channels, balancing specialty, outdoor, sporting goods channels of distribution.
Develop distribution strategies that expand specialty growth while protecting Columbia’s position with national accounts.
Assortment Planning & Lifecycle Management
Create consumer‑right assortments that deliver growth while reducing unnecessary complexity in the marketplace.
Drive productivity by managing SKU adoption, focusing on core franchises, and introducing innovation where it matters most.
Establish clear lifecycle plans to ensure smooth flow of products from launch to exit.
Consumer‑Led Storytelling
Translate consumer insights and seasonal trends into compelling PFG product stories.
Ensure that PFG stories are differentiated by channel and resonate across wholesale, retail, and digital touchpoints.
Partner with marketing and sales to amplify PFG’s leadership position in the fishing and outdoor lifestyle space.
Business Performance & Results Delivery
Drive top‑line revenue, margin, and unit growth by aligning strategies with both consumer needs and account opportunities.
Monitor in‑season performance across all tiers and make agile adjustments to maximize sell‑through and profitability.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
Collaborate closely with design, product creation, planning, sales, and marketing to align seasonal priorities.
Lead go‑to‑market readiness to ensure retail partners are equipped with the right tools and strategies to win.
Team & Culture
Coach and mentor team members to elevate merchandising capabilities within the PFG business.
Foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and collaboration in line with Columbia’s values.
YOU ARE
Excellent at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
A goal‑oriented merchandise leader.
Passionate about the outdoors.
YOUHAVE
Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or applicable certification or equivalent experience.
7–10 years of merchandising or product management experience in apparel, footwear, or related consumer goods.
Strong experience managing multi‑channel wholesale assortments, including specialty and national accounts.
Proven ability to create marketplace segmentation strategies that drive growth and protect brand equity.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable merchandising strategies.
Skilled at cross‑functional collaboration with design, product, sales, and marketing partners.
Passion for the outdoor lifestyle and enthusiasm for the fishing and water‑based outdoor space.
Outdoor and action sports experience required.
