Electrical Engineer II or III (Huntington Beach or Santa Maria) Elevate Aircraft Seating is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to work onsite in Huntington Beach, CA or Santa Maria, CA. The role focuses on coordinating and completing aircraft electrical design projects, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, regulations, and safety standards.

Job Summary The Electrical Engineer is responsible for coordinating design activities, supervising Design Engineers, and managing the engineering schedule and deliverables. The position ensures effective communication among disciplines and keeps projects on track.

Essential Functions

Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications for aircraft seating systems.

Coordinate with manufacturing, planning, purchasing, program management, certification, stress engineering, and design engineering to meet safety, regulatory, and schedule requirements.

Apply engineering principles to develop products that satisfy specification, regulation, schedule, and budget.

Develop and optimize designs to meet performance targets such as cost, volume, weight, and quality; identify opportunities for component and assembly optimization.

Create 3‑D models of components and assemblies in CATIA and produce 2‑D drawings in CATIA and AutoCAD.

Research and verify design criteria and customer needs, considering regulatory and OEM requirements.

Optimize designs for manufacturing and assembly, incorporating feedback from fabricators, operators, QA, and supply chain specialists.

Create design proposals, presentations, and provide objective rationale for designs to internal teams and customers.

Prepare drawings, reports, and engineering data required for production, testing, and qualification.

Provide technical support to supply chain vendors and address inquiries.

Act as shop liaison during initial production units to resolve engineering issues and support manufacturing electrical design.

Monitor project tracking status to ensure accurate and timely completion.

Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant work environment in adherence to company policies.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, protecting confidentiality of company information.

Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Education & General Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.

Experience

Level I: 0‑2 years of engineering experience.

Level II: 2‑5 years of engineering experience.

Level III: 5+ years of engineering experience.

Skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Working knowledge of CATIA, AutoCAD, and PLM software.

Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Preferred Skills/Experience

Experience with design and certification of electrical components installed in aircraft interiors.

Other Requirements

Extended or irregular hours may be required.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Employing at-will basis; employment may be terminated by either party at any time.

Leadership Responsibility

None for Level I or II; senior level may oversee the work of others.

Assist in training and coaching of project team members as assigned.

Assist in driving key project initiatives.

Problem Solving

Level I: Uses judgment for routine decisions.

Level II: Plans and performs design decisions within established boundaries.

Level III: Makes complex, innovative decisions involving significant judgment.

Language Skills

Effective communication in English, both verbal and written.

Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $85,000 – $120,000 annually, with potential for bonus.
