Satcom Field Engineer
CACI International Inc is seeking a highly motivated SATCOM Field Engineer to support mission‑critical programs. The position is full‑time, regular rotational traveler with up to 50% travel required outside continental US.
Job Description
Responsible for the installation of full satellite systems at various global locations, including outdoor dish assembly and indoor electronic rack assembly and configuration.
Complete the build of all satellite subsystems, ensuring satellite acquisition and signal level verification, fault isolation, repair or replacement of faulty components, and peak performance.
Provide global support for customer satellite Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities such as PMI, circuit restorations, activations, troubleshooting, infrastructure repair, and system relocations.
Install, terminate, and test cable connections (fiber and copper) that support the satellite system during installation or O&M projects.
Install conduit, ladder racks, demarcation boxes, power runs, breaker panels, breakers, and other infrastructure needed for satellite installations or O&M projects.
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Minimum 6 years of related experience.
Ability to lift, maneuver, and assemble satellite equipment up to single‑man 70 lb and two‑man 150 lb lifts.
Strong understanding of satellite signal flow and RF theory; maintain current satellite skill set and educational levels related to present customer satellite systems and emerging technologies.
Willingness to travel at least 50 %.
Knowledge of X, Ka, C, Ku‑band satellite constellations and RF theory/technology.
Knowledge of satellite terminal systems, satellite modems, and fiber‑optic transceivers.
Experience with Microsoft NT 4.0, Windows OS environments, and satellite test equipment (Bit Error Test, Protocol analyzer, Multimeter, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Power Meter).
Basic TCP/IP theory and general PC/network test application knowledge.
