We have an opportunity for a

Project Engineer

in the Greater Chicago Area. The Project Engineer provides technical engineering and project control support on heavy civil and transportation construction projects, working closely with Project Managers to implement required policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foreman, and crews on project deliverables.

Processes and manages material deliveries, ensuring inspection for quantity and quality and compliance with contract documents.

Manages and negotiates subcontractor and material contracts.

Assists in developing and updating the project schedule.

Coordinates and schedules shop drawings and submittals.

Maintains a complete and current record of submittals, approvals, and resubmittals, including a file of letters of transmittal and dates of each transaction.

Highly involved in the operations of our cost control system and analysis of construction costs.

Participates in monthly forecasting of revenue and cost accruals.

Accumulates all necessary data and prepares monthly pay estimates.

Processes and estimates change orders and requests for information as directed by the Project Manager.

Follows OHLA USA policies and procedures, including safety policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

3+ years of heavy civil construction experience.

Safety oriented – 10‑hour and 30‑hour OSHA certificates are preferred.

Strong organizational and time‑management skills.

Ability to function as a team builder/player.

IDOT/TOLLWAY experience strongly preferred.

Salary Minimum Salary: USD $75,000.00/Yr. Maximum Salary: USD $85,000.00/Yr.
