Sr. Director, Banking Platforms
The Banking Platforms Director Sr is a senior technology leader responsible for overseeing and transforming the bank's core systems supporting commercial lending, lease, deposits, payments and world banking. This role partners closely with business leaders across lending, treasury management, and deposits to simplify operations, enhance customer interactions, and modernize legacy platforms. A product-centric mindset, customer-level data architecture, and strategic vendor management are central to this role.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Platform Leadership & Optimization: Manages and evolves core banking platforms supporting commercial lending, lease deposits, payments and world banking. Ensures systems are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business and operational priorities.
Business Partnerships & Product Mindset: Collaborates with business teams in commercial lending, treasury management/payments, and deposits to align platform capabilities with product strategy and customer needs. Drives platform decisions with a product-oriented approach focused on usability, agility and business outcomes.
Operational Simplification & Customer Interaction: Streamlines servicing operations and improve customer interaction models across platforms. Focuses on reducing complexity, improving efficiency, and enabling better customer experience.
Core Modernization Strategy: Leads modernization of legacy platforms to support agility, innovation, and responsiveness to market dynamics. Aligns platform architecture with future-state business models and technology strategy.
Customer-Centric Data Architecture: Shifts from account-centric to customer-centric views across platforms. Ensures data is structured, accessible, and leveraged to support servicing, analytics, and personalized engagement.
Vendor Management & Integration: Manages strategic vendor relationships, ensuring high standards of delivery, performance, and alignment with transformation goals. Oversees integration of third-party and SaaS platforms.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partners with architects, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure platform decisions support long-term scalability, resilience, and business growth.
Minimum Requirements
10 years of experience within the banking industry
Experience managing core banking, loan, and payments platforms for a medium or large sized bank
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience modernizing legacy platforms
Prior experience leading complex digital transformations
Educational Requirements
University (Degree) Preferred
