Project Architect – Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire

We are seeking an experienced Project Architect to lead the documentation of our residential projects from start to finish. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing complete, coordinated, and buildable drawing sets. While being located in the New York area is a plus, this role can be performed remotely for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Take full ownership of architectural documentation for assigned projects, from schematic design through construction administration.
Produce complete construction drawing sets, including detailing, schedules, and specifications, with precision and clarity.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure consistency across documents.
Conduct code and zoning research and integrate findings into project documents.
Review shop drawings, submittals, and mockups for adherence to approved plans.
Work closely with Project Managers and firm leadership to align documentation with design intent and site conditions.
Requirements
5+ years of professional architecture experience, with a minimum of 3 years focused on high-quality residential projects.
Proven ability to independently produce complete, coordinated drawing sets, including millwork details.
Ability to research and understand product specifications for incorporation into drawings.
Strong technical knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and detailing.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Rhino and Revit a plus.
Exceptional organizational skills and clear written and verbal communication.
Current legal authorization to work in the United States.
