About the Role
As the Automation Architect, you will be responsible for designing and leading AI-integrated automation architectures that bridge our client's AI interface with backend business systems. The role demands hands‑on AI development experience, with a focus on query automation, schema‑aware logic, and API orchestration.
You’ll partner with business stakeholders, developers, and data teams to deliver high‑performance automation using AI copilots, chat interfaces, and AI‑driven schema interactions.
What You’ll Do
Architect AI‑integrated automation workflows, working directly with chat interfaces (e.g.,
Copilot ,
ChatGPT‑style tools ) and backend database systems.
Implement solutions using
Connect AI (CData)
and MCP components to translate natural language into executable database queries.
Design API orchestrations that connect AI layers to enterprise data systems.
Build frameworks that make AI outputs actionable within our client's digital operations.
Ensure compliance, performance, and reusability of automation workflows in a Microsoft‑heavy environment (Power Platform, Azure, etc.).
Collaborate cross‑functionally with business analysts, data engineers, and application teams to translate requirements into scalable AI‑enhanced automation.
Required Experience
Hands‑on AI Development:
Experience using LLMs, copilots, or conversational AI models to trigger or guide backend actions.
Model Familiarity:
Experience working with ChatGPT, Azure OpenAI, Claude, or similar LLMs.
AI Components:
Must have used AI to
solve business problems , generate code, automate decisions, or interpret schemas.
Experience building
MCP‑like architectures
to convert API requests into database or system actions.
Solid understanding of
RESTful APIs , backend system architecture, and data schemas.
Experience with
Microsoft technologies
(Power Automate, Power BI, Azure) and cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS).
Knowledge of automation design patterns and enterprise integration.
Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical solutions to non‑technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
Experience with
Connect AI (CData)
or similar AI‑to‑database routing tools.
Knowledge of
data governance ,
compliance , and
enterprise architecture standards .
Background in manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain environments.
Remote with
expected travel to Novi, MI once per month
Initial contract term:
6 months , with intent to convert to FTE
U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders only (no C2C or sponsorship)
