Job Description The Brake Interface Components Design Release Engineer is responsible for the design and validation of brake tubes, brake hoses, and wheel speed sensors. The position will include all aspects of component design to ensure all system and vehicle level functional objectives are met.
Job responsibilities:
Managing the release of the components, bill of material, CAD drawings, design verification plan, physical testing, management of suppliers, issuing change notices, vehicle build support, issue resolution, and PPAP.
Interface with Vehicle Engineering, suppliers, Purchasing, Quality and Assembly Plants.
Manage product performance to meet functional, cost and weight targets.
Perform product release and change management processes.
Direct packaging in vehicle environment
Manage supplier and internal DVPR's and DFMEA's
Support AQP, PSO, product launch and ongoing maintenance of carryover product.
Be responsible for design and release of designated components.
Develop and refine routings for brake tubes, brake hoses, and wheel speed sensors, considering functional, safety, reliability, and performance requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Automotive or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution or ABET equivalent.
Aptitude for mechanical engineering demonstrated by work experience or academic projects.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to interface with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams.
Minimum 3-5 years experience.
Strong GD&T skill set.
Strong project management skills/experience
Proficiency in engineering disciplines, such as DVPR, DFMEA, etc.
Previous experience with brake tubes, brake hoses, wheel speed sensors
