Electrical Engineer – Senior Level Our Engineering Team is growing!

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems supporting water and wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure. You will be responsible for the development of low and medium-voltage power distribution, instrumentation, controls, and lighting systems for large-scale mechanical process and building projects. Working with minimal oversight, you will take ownership of major project components and contribute to the delivery of multidisciplinary designs. You will exercise sound engineering judgment, independently evaluate non‑routine design challenges, and select appropriate methods and techniques to develop effective, code‑compliant solutions.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday

Start/End times have some flexibility – we strive for an 8‑hour workday!

Hybrid “Work from Home‑Office” routine is a consideration after the initial training period.

Compensation:

$175,000 – $210,000 annually, depending on experience

Primary responsibilities

Project planning, scoping, proposing, and coordinating the technical activities of the team, and managing the budget, design, QA/QC, and production.

Ensures that overall engineering objectives are met, and progress is communicated. Resolves operational issues and manages technical day‑to‑day staff activities to keep the project on schedule and budget. Evaluates and manages project staff performance and provides feedback.

Prepares plans, specifications, and reports by producing advanced design calculations, performing technical analyses, and researching updated design standards. Collects technical data and information for analysis for electrical design tasks.

Demonstrates an understanding of all electrical codes and software used in the design of TJCAA client projects.

Develops electrical design reports, calculations, and drawings for TJCAA client projects that incorporate current electrical design codes and standards, project specifications, and TJCAA standards.

Interacts with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to obtain technical data and information necessary for electrical designs, working with multidisciplinary engineering groups, such as mechanical, architectural, electrical, civil, structural and control systems programmers.

Prepares project deliverables using TJCAA standards and practices, while incorporating client requirements, all within specified timelines and quality control requirements.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum of 12 years working experience

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from a four‑year, accredited college or university

Master of Science Degree

Professional Engineer License (P.E.) in CA

Project Management Experience

Electrical engineering professional experience related to the design of power, lighting, and control systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities

Must be a U.S. or qualified to work in the U.S. without Employer Visa Assistance
