The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller or Accounting Manager and is responsible for performing a variety of complex accounting duties, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and assisting with month‑end and year‑end close processes. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and GAAP standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, curious, proactive, collaborative, and experienced with QuickBooks and NetSuite accounting systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.

Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules.

Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.

Prepare financial and other analysis to support management decisions and reporting.

Support the month‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Review and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions.

Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis, identifying variances and trends.

Assist with audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.

Collaborate with the Accounting Manager or Controller and work cross‑functionally on process improvements, analysis, and accounting projects.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

Maintain accurate and organized financial records and files.

Support system enhancements and integrations within QuickBooks and NetSuite.

Calculate and prepare sales commission reports in accordance with company policies and sales agreements.

Prepare sales tax returns for multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with state and local tax regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA track preferred).

3‑5 years of progressive accounting experience.

Hands‑on experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite required; experience with NetSuite implementation is helpful.

Strong understanding of GAAP principles, financial reporting, and internal control principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).

Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position operates in an office setting.

The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

The work environment is generally quiet to moderate in noise level.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times (e.g., office files or records).

Occasional bending, reaching, or standing as necessary to complete typical office tasks.

Salary: $95000 - $100000 per year
