Duration: Long‑term renewable contract.

Pay rate: Hourly

This is a full‑time W2 position, with no subcontracting or C2C.
Client notes: Must be available onsite for the first 2 weeks for training and onboarding.
The technical ABAP programmer works with functional IT leads for implementing new content and supporting production. The associate works in an agile methodology and framework to deliver specific system enhancements (new content) or corrections (operational continuity). The team runs with monthly releases which restart every 4 weeks. The associate is measured based on a timely and quality delivery of the user‑story they are assigned.
Required Skills:
SAP, ABAP, JAVA, WebDynpro, experience in Production Planning, Material Management and Logistics Planning; S/4 and R/3 experience required.
Nice to have: Warehouse management.
Work from Home Flexibility:
60% onsite and 40% work from home (subject to change). Will work between Plant Spartanburg and ITRC. 10% travel possible.
Overview:
DataSoft Technologies, Inc. seeks a SAP Technical Programmer/Business Specialist to join our client in Greenville, SC. This individual manages the full systems development life cycle of projects/programs within area of responsibility. Coordinates and takes the lead role for the technical/functional development and support of SAP IT applications including Warehouse Management, Yard Management, Quality Management, Plant Maintenance, and/or Inbound Logistics. Plans, designs, develops, and implements efficient IT systems in support of assigned organizational functions. Applies proven communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify, communicate and resolve systems issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Responsibilities:
Perform planning, analysis, designing, requirements definition, functional design, development, testing and implementation of IT solutions.
Provide support for difficult and complex system environments.
Provide support, assistance and training to users.
Coordinate activities simultaneously for multiple projects.
Use ITPM Agile methodology effectively when performing all tasks.
Meet with decision‑makers, systems owners, and end‑users to define business requirements and systems goals, identifying and resolving business systems issues.
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in‑house computing systems.
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to direct application developers.
Coordinate and perform in‑depth tests, including end‑user reviews, for modified and new systems.
Conduct research on software products to justify recommendations and support purchasing efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Science, Business or equivalent of 4 years experience in an IT application or Infrastructure profession.
Great communication and documentation skills.
Ability to conduct meetings with stakeholders, gather business requirements and create development specifications.
Must manage issue/problem topics in their area of expertise.
5+ years programming experience using ABAP/4, SAP UI5/Fiori, SAP BI/BW, Data Warehouses, C++, JAVA, HTML, JSP, J2EE, SQL, Oracle, UNIX/Linux, XSLT.
5+ years experience planning, analyzing, designing, testing, implementing, documenting and training in SAP areas, preferably Warehouse Management, Yard Management and/or Inbound Logistics.
5+ years project management experience.
5+ years experience working in a customer‑service oriented environment.
5+ years experience in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.
5+ years functional knowledge in SAP R/3 related modules or production systems.
5+ years experience executing and communicating project plans.
5+ years knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle.
5+ years knowledge of IT infrastructure components – operating systems, networks, databases, internet technologies.
3+ years experience communicating ideas in both technical and user‑friendly language.
Basic knowledge of cost and budget control.
Project Management training (preferred).
Nice to have: SAP FIORI, UI5, Cloud concepts, Data Analytics, KAKFA, XRAY, SAP CALM, data exchange understanding (EDI).
