Director of Environmental Services
Job Description
Manage the environmental services department within a 700 bed hospital, overseeing approximately 1M+ sq ft of cleanable space and leading a team of over 100 associates including 5 operations managers and 4 supervisors. Responsible for financial budget management, including labor and supply costs, and coordinate with vendors. Maintain high cleanliness and service levels, ensuring compliance with Touchpoint standards.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for department’s financial data and statistics
Monitoring of unit expenditures
Develop and recommend operating budget, ensuring department operates within it
Coordinate housekeeping activities with other departments
Actively communicate with administration and other hospital departments
Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise departmental functions
Establish work standards and workflow
Travel to various accounts providing support
Establish and implement policies and procedures for operations
Encourage and mentor staff creativity and innovation
Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies
Proactively achieve facility goals and objectives
Demonstrate quality leadership in meeting performance plans
Read, develop, and administer Total Quality Management processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Experience at Assistant Director or Director level in a mid to large acute care hospital
Housekeeping management experience at a large account
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
Strong business acumen
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client relationship skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet goals
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, email, internet
