Base pay range $133,000.00/yr - $156,000.00/yr

Job Summary The Production Engineer II will be responsible for a wide range of production engineering assignments—such as monitoring and optimizing production, designing artificial lift, recommending downhole interventions, identifying well pad and production facility bottlenecks, interfacing with state and federal regulatory agencies to ensure compliance, analyzing operating expenses, and working closely with the field operating personnel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Champion well profitability analysis, cash flow analysis, and economic analysis.

Lead the well surveillance process to identify and carry out production improvement opportunities on wells, facilities, and operations from concept to execution.

Facilitate well reviews with field personnel, leveraging financial, geologic, and reservoir expertise.

Champion facility projects to ensure compliance and optimize cost.

Evaluate economics, generate AFEs, cost estimates, and procedures for workovers, recompletions, P&As, and other non‑D&C capital projects.

Prolong asset life/integrity by optimizing chemical use programs.

Manage initial well flowback after completions using choke management best practices and implement artificial lift on wedge activity.

Conduct post‑work reviews of project costs and well performance results to generate process improvements for future programs.

Help support the technical excellence of the operations and field operating personnel.

Assist operations with reviewing LOE costs and variances to budget regularly and provide recommendations on ways to reduce future costs.

Provide technical support to ensure regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance.

Any other tasks as deemed by management.

Qualifications Specialized Knowledge

Knowledge of production engineering concepts—including well surveillance, production optimization, RTA Analysis and intervention.

Understanding/application of ECMC and BLM rules and regulations.

Experience with cost analysis, variances, budgeting, and economics.

Competency in writing Well Work procedures and knowledge of infrastructure and facility operations.

Proven record of engineering leadership to identify opportunities and improve operations in terms of safety, integrity, and reliability.

Proficient with Peloton ProdView (or similar production data software), WellView, Spotfire, Power BI, MS Windows Office Suite applications. Experience with SQL and ComboCurve is a plus.

Education

A minimum of a B.S. in petroleum, mechanical, or chemical engineering required.

Professional Certification

Current Well Control Certificate, preferred.

Experience 2+ years of experience in oil and gas production operations, with an emphasis on natural gas production.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment and outdoor field environment.

This position requires regular travel to the field. Some operations may require more frequent travel.
