You'll design, code, debug, test, and troubleshoot systems and software throughout the product lifecycle.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn‑key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Responsibilities
Work as part of a larger Agile software development team.
Develop software that is trusted by US Special Operations Forces (SOF) to accomplish demanding missions.
Design, implement, document, test, and debug embedded software and systems that prioritize reliability and performance.
Follow and contribute to continuously improving code standards set by the team.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience.
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience.
Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
Familiarity working in multidisciplinary teams.
Basic knowledge of data structures and algorithm implementation within the C and C++ programming languages.
Ability to take ownership of small tasks and projects.
Strong organization skills and work ethic.
Qualifications We Prefer
Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral.
Familiarity with software version control systems (subversion, git, etc.).
Familiarity with software tools for requirements tracking, code reviews, static analysis, unit testing, and automated build (Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Pull Requests, etc.).
Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, and other native programming languages.
Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio and cross-compilation.
Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems and embedded systems.
Familiarity with computer graphics programming (OpenGL / Vulkan).
Familiarity with linear algebra, statistics, calculus, and trigonometry.
Interest in avionics systems, embedded software (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, FPGAs), drones, robotics, computer vision, control systems, and computer networking.
